Joshua Armstrong moved to Nashville,
Tennessee a while ago. I have kept in touch with what he has been up
to since his early days in the Californian music scene. He has
recently added production work to his music talents, producing as
well as performing as part of his 2012 project. This project is now
half completed, with half the planned releases already available to
hear. His current aim is to release an online track per month for six
months, leaving us three tracks yet to encounter.
'Forever Over You' was Joshua's first
single from the project. It gives you a taste of the pop music
reminds me of the early Richard Marx era, with a softer, smoother
feel to the vocals. The second track 'Stepping Stone' offers a taste
of Joshua's ballad-style talents. 'This song is one of my best songs
to date.' Joshua says, 'I wrote this song on new years eve of 2009. I
remember driving home in the rain and came home to an empty house. I
could see this song being played at my funeral someday.'
The latest release came in early July.
'Miss You Wanting Me' brings out the best in Joshua's voice, in my
opinion. 'Instead of trying to sing perfect I decided to try and
sing emotional.' Joshua claims, 'I think people care more about how
the song makes them feel.' Joshua wants to bring the emotion from the
track through your ears and into your heart, rather than simply offer
a 'perfected' vocalization. It seems Joshua managed to achieve this,
because when he first played the song in front of a listener, they
cried.
The next sample of Joshua's talent is
due to be released any day. You will find the first three tracks
along with the fourth when it arrives at Joshua's website - joshuaarmstrong.net
If you want to discover a second side
to Joshua, check out his non-music website - http://www.whyismiletoday.com/ He hopes to spread the art of smiling
and generating happiness by encouraging people to smile and talk
about why.
