Lam
La Che has 19 tracks of beautiful Tibetan music, blending traditional
with contemporary styles. Several of the tracks are instrumentals,
with the lyrics in an accompanying booklet (in both English and German)
for the vocal tracks as well as descriptions of the wordless
pieces.
My
personal favorite track is Lama Khen, stemming from the final
cries from some of those who have sacrificed their lives in the name of Tibet. The
title song's lyrics are a poem by the well-known blogger-poet Woeser, now set to
music. The sounds of tracks 10 and 18 stand out as somewhat
different, also breaking the album into segments along with the
instrumental/vocal track variations.
I
would recommend this 2013 release to those interested in Tibetan
music, those wishing to sample something slightly different for
playing in the house while cooking or doing chores, and those who
simply enjoy beautiful sounds.
The
album can be purchased HERE, you can see a video for my favorite
track HERE, & you can find out more about Techung HERE.
