The Tulpa Effect - LOVE!MISSILES!DESTROY! - (Kevin Ian Common) - The Common Men

The Tulpa Effect is a recently released 8-track album that I downloaded. Following Kevin and his band via Facebook, I was eager to hear the finished project when I heard he was working on a new online release. Nearly every wall post I spot from Kevin relates to guitar effects & equipment. Therefore it is no surprise to find multiple exciting sounds arising within this music.

1- LOST - dreamy, drifty guitaring with electro effects.
2- LIAR - soft and boomy with tinkles and clashes - and vocals. Longgggggg fade out.
3- DESTROYER - bashy, clashy, metallic bounce and squeal. Trembling 'TCM' vox. This is the shortest track in the collection.
4- SOME KIND OF ANGER - static distortion, stuck-vinyl scratches, grumpy bee buzzes, car won't start, electric rain, squeaky balloons and DJ is drunk sound effects. The result is akin to a sci-fi soundtrack..
5- SYCOPHANT - electric guitary pop-screech with those sexy 'TCM' vox. A burst of boom-guitar briefly changes the pace.
6- A DEEP ROAR - a calmer yet catchy melodic start to the track. Turns into a rockier louder sound in parts. A beautiful calm burst comes just after half way through this (the longest) track.
7- SWALLOWED BY THE SEA - trembling rolls, twisting twangs, buzzing twirls, fading drones and squeaky swirls.
8- A HUMAN OCEAN - bubbly wobbles, soft pianoistic tinkles, toe-tappy with bursts of shrillness, tap-bops, fizzles and 'TCM' sung lyrics wrapped under the music that burst up from time to time.

Altogether, a very interesting selection that I am proud to own. You can get your copy for just $2 (or more if you wish) HERE
